fooling around. Nothing would come from it.

It's what they knew they had to do
to be in love.
But do children understand love?
a notion very complex
in their silly simple minds.
As their small bodies made contact
they did not realise it was wrong.
Now she bears the weight of their actions
and even if they still don't understand what it means
to love
or to need
they have shocked me out of oblivion.
